Han, hun og Strindberg: Peter, a theatre director, hates being out of work so much it's affecting his relationship with his girlfriend Marie, an actress. As a remedy, she suggests they stage a play by Strindberg together and bring in her famous friend Liza. Not such a good idea, it turns out. Soon, Liza is applying all her skills to steal the leading role and the director away from Maria, who is not backing down without a fight.
