Die Nacht vor der Premiere: Carola Lorm, a celebrated revue star from South America, is not thrilled that her daughter Barbara wants to marry a young man from Hamburg. The weather there is just as chilly as the father-in-law-to-be, who turns out to be a snooty Hanseatic fruit merchant. When Carola follows the runaway couple to Germany, she also gets caught up in an intrigue involving drug smugglers. But with the help of an amorous detective, she is able to put a stop to the scoundrels and trick the ossified father-in-law into changing his mind.
