Hukkakaurat: A drama set in the 1980s. It paints a picture of rural idyll, against which the hidden fears and hopes of many people loom. The film's protagonist, Jari, escapes from army boot camp and hides from his demanding father and the rest of the world in the safest place he knows. The bullying sergeant is left behind, but does that make life any easier? Teppo, the village oddball, agrees to help Jari, but he is also struggling with his own frightening demons.
